These days, it’s a bit more interesting when the public at large hasn’t heard from Lindsay Lohan and her family of days, the majority of the world having gotten used to some of the most interesting (and crazy) antics around. Whether she’s misbehaving on set, feuding with her parents, or scrapping with congressional aides at the New York W hotel (this actually happened about a week ago), Lindsay Lohan seems to refuse to be out of the public eye. What’s more is that she also seems to refuse to do anything positive or meaningful to get herself there, and so the world continues to watch while Lindsay Lohan and the rest of her family live out a confused and troubled existence that continues to fascinate the rest of the general human population.
These most recent antics actually remove Lindsay from her usual Los Angeles stomping (and partying) grounds, and place her firmly in the area of North Merrick, Long Island where her mother Dina has what can be presumed to be an extravagantly large home. Following an evening of Manhattan party-time, as is the two ladies’ custom, they returned home in the wee hours of the morning, where they continued in their driveway an argument that had likely began at a low simmer in the car before being brought to a full boil in front of the Ms. Lohan’s palatial home. The cops were called, but by the time they had arrived on the scene things were calmed down considerably and their services were apparently not required.
This has been no reason for anyone in the Lohan family to ignore a chance at some publicity, however, and the perpetually attention-starved Michael Lohan was quick to accuse his wife of imprisoning their daughter. This, of course, was claimed despite the fact that Lindsay and Dina were seen embracing as the latter left the former’s house the very morning after the altercation.
Surprisingly enough, the entire ordeal was apparently over a loan that has yet to be repaid to Lindsay by her mother. The $40,000 in question was purportedly loaned from Lindsay to help Dina avoid foreclosure on the family’s home, but at what a cost, Ms. Lohan? At what a cost? The paparazzi had a pretty fun evening trying to get some interesting photographs out of the altercation, but those looking for some juicy drama were relatively disappointed.
The latest Lohan altercation was a simple mother-vs-daughter tiff, and not the kind of Hollywood meltdown that the entertainment world often sees. One can only hope, however, that all that premier limousine service and high-end club visiting will someday result in a happier, more well-adjusted family. It’s not hard to remember the time when Lindsay Lohan delighted audiences with her youthful charm, and much of the world longs for those days when we could watch a healthy and happy Lindsay acting her heart out and bringing joy to the screen.
