Out of the dozens of new mobile phones that have recently been released the new Samsung Galaxy S3 is one the most well known. In contrast the Huawei Ascend D Quad is a new handset that many smartphone consumers may not be aware of. Despite the difference in the profiles of the two phones they are both fairly similar in terms of their specification. We take a look at the processing power and camera features offered by these devices.

These two handsets are two of the leading models currently available for processing power. The Huawei Ascend D Quad incorporates a chipset developed by Huawei themselves. This chipset has been dubbed the K3V2 and it features a powerful quad core processor. This processing chip is clocked at 1.2Ghz and it delivers exceptional operation speeds for both single tasks and multi tasking. Despite being a relatively unknown chipset early reports indicate that it is faster than the excellent Nvidia Tegra 3 chipset that is used by numerous Android devices. The Samsung Galaxy S3 is the first quad core device to be released by the company. The phone boasts the very latest Exynos 4212 chipset which also delivers exceptional operation times. This chipset comprises of an ARM Cortex A9 processor chip with a speed of 1.4Ghz. This chip is coupled with a Mali 400MP graphics processing unit which helps the device to handle some of the most demanding games titles currently available. Although there is a slight difference in the speed of the two processors both models deliver some of the most satisfying operation times available. There really is little to choose between these handsets in this department.

One area where the Samsung Galaxy S3 impresses more than the Huawei Ascend D Quad is for photography features. The model is capable of capturing still images at an impressive resolution of 12 million pixels. For self portraits users can also make use of the secondary front facing camera which delivers a resolution of 2 mega pixels. It is not only the quality of the camera on the S3 that impresses us but also the number of features that accompany it. Alongside the more regular facilities such as autofocus and an LED flash are a useful burst mode which captures a series of image in quick succession. Users can also record Full HD video and take a photography at the same time. The Huawei Ascend D Quad offers an 8 mega pixel which uses a BSI sensor to produce excellent image quality. This model also sports a secondary camera but this can only offer a 1.3 mega pixel resolution. 1080P video footage can be recorded by the model but the number of additional features are not as impressive as what the S3 boasts. There are some useful additions such as geo tagging facilities and an autofocus but the Samsung comes out on top in this area thanks to the super range of options that it offers.

The Huawei Ascend D Quad and the Samsung Galaxy S3 are two of the most impressive handsets that we have looked at recently. Both devices feature excellent chipsets but photography fans may favour the Samsung thanks to a combination of excellent quality and some super features.

Since the iOS platform was introduced on the very first iPhone the operating system has always relied on the Google Maps service to provide users with location based services and navigational tools. Google are obviously the company who produce the popular Android software, the main rival to Apple’s own operating system. In a bid to distance themselves from their competitors Apple are set to include a brand new maps service on the iOS6 operating system which will feature on the new iPhone 5. Although this change has not been officially confirmed it is likely to be revealed at the Apple developers conference which will be held in June. This new service will be developed by Apple but consumers are unlikely to notice much of a difference as the software will work in the same manner.

There are also likely to be numerous other changes to the iOS6 platform for the new iPhone 5. One major change will be to the Siri voice recognition system that was launched with the iPhone 4S. It is rumoured that the new platform will feature Siri API which will enable application developers to produce new apps for the phone that can make use of the Siri software. At the moment Siri only works with applications that are native to the handset but on the iPhone 5 the voice recognition service will potentially be able to interact with thousands of additional applications. This means that users could control games and trade stocks with their voice and also use Siri to control things such as automated home lighting systems. This change will certainly enhance the appeal of Siri which although is very impressive is still often underused. There are also rumours that Apple will use the June conference to launch Siri for the iPad tablet device. AT this moment in time the service is restricted to the iPhone 4S and the forthcoming iPhone 5.

It looks as though Apple will be changing more than the design of the new iPhone 5. In a bid to make their product stand out from the competition some big changes are set to happen to the iOS operating platform. A new maps services will be featured but many consumers will be more interested in the Siri updates, especially the possibility of it working with additional applications.

A leading mobile phone retailer has indicated that we can expect to see the new LG Optimus 4X HD hit the shelves in the UK between the end of June and the beginning of July. Originally the handset was scheduled to be released in Korea first with the UK following closely behind but it now looks as though the UK may be first. The exact pricing of this new device is still undecided but we can expect it to compete with similar models such as the HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy S3. This summer launch date is when we can expect to see the model sold without a SIM contract but it is certain that some of the leading network providers will be keen to offer packages on this model thanks to its impressive specification.

The new LG Optimus 4X HD is going to be the flagship model in the companies range thanks to some very impressive specification. The model will be one of the most powerful on the market thanks to its quad core chipset which will deliver excellent multi tasking speeds. The model will feature am Nvidia Tegra 3 processor which is clocked at 1.5Ghz. In addition to this the model will also boast a substantial 1GB of RAM which means that the phone will be well equipped to handle any future software developments that may occur. In the screen department the handset will feature a large 4.7 inch screen that uses the very latest IPS technology to deliver fantastic clarity and excellent viewing angles. The model will run on the Ice Cream Sandwich version of the Android operating system and give users 16GB of internal storage capacity to hold a large amount of audio, photo and video files.

UK consumers will be pleased that they do not have long to wait until they can get their hands on the new LG Optimus 4X HD. We expect to see this excellent handset available towards the end of June, slightly after the official launch of another new quad core device, the Samsung Galaxy S3.

There is no question that the Samsung Galaxy S2 was the best mobile handset of 2011. This high powered smartphone beat all of the competition to be awarded numerous accolades and the phone was also a huge hit with consumers with over 30 million units being shifted to date. This year the manufacturers have had the opportunity to impress once again with the launch of the new Galaxy S3. This device however has failed to win the public over in the same way as its predecessor did. Does this leave the door open for the forthcoming iPhone 5 to be the best phone of 2012?

The first impressions of the new Samsung Galaxy S3 are a little disappointing. One of the major new features on this model is the new S-Voice facility which enables users to control the phone with their own voice. The problem with this feature is that Apple already launched their own Siri service on the iPhone 4S and this feature offers more in the way of functionality than the new Samsung software. The new iPhone 5 will also feature an improved version of the Siri software which should push Apple further ahead of Samsung in this department. When Apple introduced the iPhone 4S many consumers wished for a new design but the developers opted to use the same chassis as the iPhone 4 which was launched in 2010. The new Galaxy S3 does feature a new design but one that many people feel is inferior to its predecessor. The phone does not feel as well built as the S2 and it also offers more generic looks that puts it in line with numerous other phones. The iPhone 4 was one of the nicest looking phones ever released and the decision not to change the design was actually no bad thing. Apple pride themselves on their design and when the new handset is launched later this year it is sure to improve on the 4S with high quality metals likely to be used in its construction. This will see the Apple handset appeal to consumers much more than the new Galaxy S3.

One area where the new Samsung Galaxy S3 does impress is in the processing department thanks to the powerful new Exynos 4212 quad core chipset that it incorporates. We do however expect the new iPhone 5 to compare well against this model in this department. The Apple iOS is a very power efficient operating system and we saw with the iPhone 4S that the platform can outperform the majority of Android powered devices. The new model will definitely feature a larger screen along with 4G connectivity and therefore a boost in processing power may well be required. There is some talk that Apple will continue with their use of the A5 chipset although it looks more likely that the model will feature the new A6 architecture. This set up will boast quad cores and should ensure that the new Apple phone is one of the very best for operating speeds.

The launch of the new Samsung Galaxy S3 seems to have left a void in the smartphone market that needs to be filled. Many people expected the model to be the ultimate mobile smartphone but these expectations proved to be a little high. The phone is very good but it is comparable with other excellent devices like the HTC One X and the Sony Xperia S. If the new iPhone 5 includes many of the features that we expect it may well prove to me the model that everybody was hoping that the Galaxy S3 would be.

A spokesperson for the Football Club reported that when they requested Mr. Cabourne’s assistance for the School, he did not hesitate but agreed immediately to meet with the principal, Sylvester Charles.Mr. Cabourne visited the Computer Lab and committed to upgrade the equipment.

Mr. Cabourne’s prompt action resulted in the purchase and installation of 27 stat- of-the-art computers with accessories and 27 chairs from Peter.KN . Owner, Peter Chevozerov agreed to set up the computers free of cost and to provide other guidance on their use.

Delphic Newtown  United  undertook other activities to improve the aesthetics and comfort of the room such as repairing the cooling system, painting the interior, installing new curtains, and enhancing the security of the Lab.

Commenting on a tremendous show of support from a number of individuals, organizations and corporate citizens, Delphic New Town President Mark Hodge said it was overwhelming. He revealed that the St. Kitts Nevis Football Association (SKNFA) Premier Division football players painted the Computer Lab with discounted paint provided by Builder’s Paradise. Mr. Philmore Warner of Lennox Warner & Partners provided supervision for the players.

An internal air conditioning unit was serviced and repaired by Larry and Dion Maynard of Maynard’s Air Conditioning. Federal Air Conditioning provided an external unit at a discounted price.  The curtains were made and donated by Sun Island Clothing. The security system was purchased by Ocean’s Edge and installed free of charge by Caribbean Security Systems, a company, which will also monitor the system, thanks to the generosity of Mr. Paul Ferguson.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education Mrs. Ionie Liburd Willett told the Education Media Unit that the generosity and cooperation shown in this venture is exactly what is needed in the national development thrust. She added that she was pleased that in this case, the Ministry of Education, and more specifically, the Tucker Clarke Primary School, had benefitted.

She invited other corporate citizens to partner with the Ministry in similar ventures.

After a very long wait Samsung have finally revealed details about their new Galaxy S3 device, the successor to the hugely successful Samsung Galaxy S2. There have been hundreds of rumours circulating about the specification of this new device but now we can finally see how the model compares with some of the other leading devices currently available. First up is the iPhone 4S so we take a look at design and display quality on both of these models.

Despite the iPhone 4S using the same chassis as the iPhone 4 the model still boasts eye catching looks that make it one of the most desirable phones on the market. The handsets sports an unusual glass design which consists of two glass panels that form the front and the rear of the phone. An attractive metallic strip is sandwiched between these two panels. Apple offer the handset in the traditional black finish and also a white version which looks superb. In terms of dimensions the handset measures 115.2 x 58.6 x 9.3mm which makes it one of the most compact handsets around while the quite substantial weight of 140 grammes makes the phone feel very well constructed. The Samsung Galaxy S3 boasts a much larger screen than the iPhone 4S and therefore the phone is physically larger. The handset measures 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6mm but despite the extra size the models still weighs less than the Apple phone at just 133 grammes. The model sports a much more curved design than its predecessor and the iPhone and this works well with the rather large size of the handset. Although it is hard to choose between the two models for styling the Apple phone holds the upper hand for build quality. The S3 is constructed mainly from plastics which lacks the premium feel that the glass on the 4S offers.

The iPhone 4S set the standard for mobile screens and even at over six months of age the model still boasts some of the best quality available. The model makes use of a 3.5 inch LED backlit LCD display which can display a very impressive resolution of 960 x 640 pixels. This means that the model can offer a superb pixel density of 330PPI. The screen is also very durable and is treated with a special oleophobic coating to help it repel fingerprints. The new Samsung Galaxy S3 uses a very large 4.7 inch AMOLED screen. Samsung have worked hard in trying to get this display to compete with the Retina screen that is offered on the 4S. The model displays a massive resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels but despite being a much higher resolution than the iPhone the extra size of the screen means that the pixel density is 306PPI, lower than what the 4S can offer. It is very hard to choose between the two models in this area. The iPhone holds the upper hand for image quality but on what is a fairly small screen. The Samsung screen size impresses us more but a tiny bit of quality is sacrificed in order to accommodate a display of this size.

Despite being several months old the iPhone 4S still offers a nicer design than its rival thanks to its glass construction and excellent build quality. When it comes to screen technology there is little to choose between the two handsets. Consumers will ultimately decide whether they want a more compact screen with the very best image quality on the 4S or a larger display perfect for multi media use on the new S3.

A college degree has long been a requirement to finding financial success and career longevity and enjoyment. Unemployment rates are still very high in this country, and people looking for a job are up against incredibly qualified people with years of experience. Without a degree, you could have little to no chance of getting a job that pays enough to offer a good quality of life for you and your family. But after a surprising new study, it seems that higher education may not only be linked to improved personal finances, but also to improved health and a longer life.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics released their annual report earlier today, which declared that individuals who have earned at least a bachelor’s degree at college generally live nine years longer than people who haven’t graduated from high school. The CDC pooled data that went back further than a decade to land on that determination. It’s not actually that surprising. Medical professionals have been suggesting for years that an individual’s life expectancy can be shown to have some sort of tie to their amount of education. But a theory is one thing, seeing the results in black and white, especially with the idea that the discrepancy can lead to nearly a decade more or less of life, is something else entirely.

The Center for Disease Control’s study pointed to statistics from 2010, and how smoking links to education. Two years ago, 31% of adults between the ages of 25 and 64 who had received a high school diploma or had dropped out before graduating and didn’t have any college experience were currently smoking cigarettes. That number dropped to 24% cigarette smokers when considering people that had at least some college experience, and 9% of people who had a bachelor’s degree.

The lead author of the CDC report was Amy Bernstein, who researches health services for the National Center for Health Statistics. Bernstein declared that the findings clearly show that people with a high level of education generally live a healthier life than their less educated counterparts. Additionally, they may have better access to medical care if a situation arises where they need it. With medical insurance more expensive than ever and less companies offering benefits, this makes a lot of sense. Less educated people make less money in today’s technology-focused, highly specialized workforce, and therefore less of them will be able to afford good medical care. Millions of Americans don’t have insurance at all, and chances are most of them don’t have the resources a college degree affords.

More research from the study backs up these findings. In 2010, childhood obesity was much more prevalent in homes where the parents did not have a high school diploma. Fully 24% of boys and 22% of girls in those households were obese. In homes where the parents had earned at least a bachelor’s degree, those numbers shrunk to 11% of male children and 7% of female children.

Education, wealth and health are all clearly interrelated. Although people in poor communities could figure out how to afford and earn an online MBA finance degree, in general they are dealing with less access to education, healthy food, good medical care, and parks and recreation areas that keep them physically fit. It’s an incredibly serious issue, and though the CDC’s findings shed additional light on the discrepancies, they don’t offer any sort of solution.

For students considering where to continue their education after high school or graduates wondering if their alma mater deserves their financial support, a new global ranking system may help make these decisions a bit simpler. An international network of colleges have come together with a unique way to judge the quality of universities, breaking things down by country. Just published this past Friday, this new study is the first of its kind, and should change the way people think about the educational system in the United States and around the world.

The study was published by Universitas 21, which is the name taken by this unique international network of twenty-four colleges and universities. Their goal is to target government representatives that work on educational policy issues, and give them new tools to help dissect the strengths and weaknesses of a country’s current educational system. It will help policy makers decide where resources need to be allocated, while assisting international students who are considering studying abroad with their decision-making process. According to the authors of the study, American universities ranked first in the world in their measures of overall performance. Sweden, Canada, Finland and Denmark rounded out the top five.

As far as amount of publications written and released, America also ranked first on that. China followed in second place, but ranked dead last on measures of international connectivity. The countries that showed the most ties with schools in other countries were Finland, South Korea and Greece. On one important measure, America is not leading the way, and that’s workforce education. Israel, Russia and Canada currently have the most workers who have earned a degree at an institution of higher education.

The Universitas 21 researchers pulled in data from across a wide range of areas and philosophies. They looked at levels of investment in higher education from both the private and public sectors, how each country’s schools engender an international collaborative relationship, how policy by each government supports schools, the quality of research that comes out of each country, any opportunities for participation, amount and quality of diversity, and how these schools graduate people into a country’s workforce. After releasing the results of their efforts, the researchers went on record saying the findings weren’t terribly surprising.

The lead author of the support was Ross Williams, a professorial fellow at the University of Melbourne who works in applied economic and social research. His university actually spearheaded the entire initiative. Speaking about the results, Williams declared that if it wasn’t crystal clear before, the fact that money and resources matter greatly should certainly be clear now. The countries that put the most into their educational systems reaped the biggest benefits, and it wasn’t particularly close. For him, the purpose of this study was to give the world’s governments some larger understanding of how higher education can contribute to their country’s cultural and economic development.

Williams followed up his findings by declaring that the rankings will be updated and published annually, and will give people tools to understand how an entire country’s educational system is working, not just individual schools. There may only be a handful of schools that offer a high end counseling masters degree, but understanding the system as a whole will do much more for the future of education that just looking at the best programs in each country.

It is the oncologist who specializes in the disease who will decide on the line of treatment. The disease is difficult to treat and in most cases the prognosis is poor. Treatment options include:

1. If the diagnosis is done in the early stages surgery may be recommended to remove all cancerous tissues. This means thoracoscopy, VATS or video assisted thoracic surgery, mediastinoscopy (used for staging), or laproscopy. Often, doctors will advise palliative procedures like chest tube drainage and pleurodesis, thoracoscopy and pleurodesis, pleuroperitonial shunt, or pleurectomy, which treat the symptoms of mesothelioma rather than the disease.

2. Radiation is prescribed aggressively for mesothelioma patients and is often given in combination with surgery or in order to control symptoms, palliatively. Research on using radiation therapy using implants or UV light therapy is in progress as traditional radiation therapy damages surrounding healthy tissue.

3. Chemotherapy is an option and around 12-20% of patients respond to the drugs. Anti-cancer drugs destroy cancer cells and prevent their spread. In mesothelioma, chemotherapy is not considered to be curative. The aim is to prevent spread of the disease; shrink the tumor prior to surgery, known as neoadjuvant therapy; to annihilate any remains of the tumor in the body post surgery; and to relieve pain and other discomfort, palliative chemotherapy. Experts recommend prescribing premetrexed along with cisplastin. These drugs have shown positive results and this is now standard care for Mesothelioma not treatable by surgery.

4. Biological therapy using interleukin 2.

5. Immunotherapy where the body’s own immune system is stimulated to fight the disease. Biological response modifiers, BRMs, are used in treatment. These enhance the functions of the immune system; regulate metabolic reactions that promote growth of cancers; alter cancer cell division; block or reverse processes that lead to formation of cancers; and prevent spread of cancer.

6. Gene therapy, where attempts are made to correct the gene sequence that causes the cancer. This is of two kinds, replacement gene therapy and knockout gene therapy.

7. Administration of lovastatin, a cholesterol lowering drug.

8. Photodynamic treatment where a photosensitive medication is activated using a laser. This is done during the surgical removal of cancerous tissues.

9. Draining of fluid in the chest or abdominal cavity followed by introduction of medications into the cavity to prevent fluid accumulation is done for patients who have uncontrolled fluid accumulation and intense discomfort stemming from it.

10. Combination therapy or Trimodal therapy which means surgery accompanied by radiation and chemotherapy.

Often, complementary medicines are also used. Termed to be holistic this kind of treatment focuses on a patient’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well being.

In the case of Mesothelioma which is untreatable one can opt for clinical trials of new treatments that are in progress in several research laboratories and centers. The best advice on the line of treatment would be that recommended by the oncologist or physician.

If you are in the market to purchase a new Android smartphone then there are two new handsets that are definitely worth considering. The HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy S3 are regarded as two of the ultimate Android devices thanks to some superb specification and excellent design. The HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy S3 both incorporate the latest version of the Android operating system. Affectionately named the Ice Cream Sandwich Version the software boasts some improvements on previous editions of the software. The Galaxy S3 uses the Touchwiz UI which boasts some excellent features that make using the phone a simple task. A great example of this is simply raising the device to your ear to instigate a call. The model also features the new Smart Stay technology which tracks whether the users eyes are looking at the screen and dims the brightness if they are not. The HTC One uses the Sense UI and this is a more simplified version that what can be found on many of the companies previous models. The interface is very attractive and is also very unobtrusive, leaving the Android platform to do the majority of the work. It is fair to say that the Galaxy S3 offers more in the way of features than its rival but the HTC phone delivers a more simple and visually attractive experience.

The HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy S3 are both flagship handsets within their respective ranges and therefore the two models are not the cheapest that you are likely to encounter. If you are looking to purchase either phone without a contract you can expect to pay around £550 for the handset. Most consumers however will opt for the phone as part of a contract package and the Samsung handset does seem to have the slightly cheaper deals. Consumers can get the Galaxy S3 for free with a contract that totals £29 per month. For this figure users can get unlimited texts but the data allowance is quite low at 250MB per month. For £31 a month you can get a free HTC One X with 500MB of data allowance, unlimited texts and 300 minutes of talk time. Although this is slightly more expensive than the Samsung you do get double the data allowance so the extra two pounds may prove a worthwhile investment.

The HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy S3 are two leading Android phones that offer almost identical specification. Both models do offer different user interfaces and the HTC device is perfect for consumers looking for more simple and intuitive operation. For those looking for more in the way of features then the Samsung may prove the better option thanks to new additions such as Smart Stay. Prices are also very similar for both models.
