Madoff says that he is troubled with the trouble in his own family though he can live with the anger of the people who he defrauded out of billions of dollars. 73 year old Bernie Madoff is still adjusting to life in prison. When asked what he would say to his grandchildren Madoff said he would say that he was sorry to cause them pain.

The interview went for two hours at the Federal Correction Complex at Butler. No cameras were allowed in the prison for interviews with Madoff so there were no pictures. Bernie Madoff says the way he passes the time is by reading.

Bernie Madoff ran a Ponzi scheme of more than $60 billion and has had six or seven different jobs in prison. Madoff makes $170 month. Madoff says that he has finally overcome thoughts of suicide and admitted his guilt of the crimes he was in prison for.

Madoff stated that he deserved to be punished and deserved to be in jail. He also said that he felt safer in prison than outside. According to Madoff he spent 20 years of his life living in fear but he no longer has any fear because he is no longer in control of his own life.
