If you are someone who is going to school at night while working a full-time job during the day, congratulations! You are doing something that is fairly difficult, and hopefully, you’ll be rewarded for your hard work soon. However, this kind of strain usually feels like a serious juggling act, and if you want some tips for keeping your balance and making sure that you don’t drop anything important, check these out!

Write It Down

No matter what you need to do, write it down, enter it into your smartphone or write a note for yourself on your whiteboard. It is easy to say that you’ll remember something, especially if it is important, but when things start getting busy, there is a chance that it will slip right out of your mind. If you have some kind of automatic reminder system on an electronic device, that is even better!

Build Some Cushioning Into Your Schedule

If you know that a certain chore takes twenty minutes, why not give yourself twenty-five? This way, you allow yourself time to relax for a bit if you finish quickly, and you give yourself some time to get the job done if there are complications that you did not foresee. Building a little bit time into your schedule can make a huge difference to how effective you are in the long run, and it more than makes up for the extra time that you budgeted.

Ask For Help

Like it or not, no one can do it alone! The truth of the matter is that there are plenty of people around you are who are likely willing to help out, ranging from friends to family to co-workers. From getting more help at home to asking for a slightly lighter workload at your job, you will discover that you can sometimes feel a great deal more free if you get even a little bit of help here and there. Remember that delegating is an important skill no matter what you are doing!

Get Plenty of Sleep

It feels counter-intuitive to say that that you should sleep more if you want to balance your life more effectively, but wouldn’t you rather be well-rested for the important bits? It is always easier to let things slide or to forget things when you are sleep deprived. You’ll also find that you are significantly more curt and abrupt with the people around you when you are deprived of the rest that you need. If you are feeling tired or dreary all the time, it is likely time for you to start getting more sleep.

Use Your Lunch Hour

When you are in a pinch, remember that taking lunch at your desk can help you get caught up. Even if you are always on time when you come back for lunch, you’ll find that it can take you some time to get back into the mindset for work. If you stay at your desk, you can finish up your tasks more effectively. However, try not to make this a habit! There are plenty of benefits for stepping away from your desk and getting out of work.

Create Goals

When you start your day, make a list of everything you want to get done. Not only does this allow you to have the satisfaction of crossing things off, you will find that prevents smaller tasks from slipping through the cracks.

When you are balancing full time work and school, you’ll find that there are some tricks which will keep you on track. Make sure that you manage your time wisely no matter where you are or what you are working on!
