AT&T and Zynga Form Deal to Create Customized Content for Android Users

AT&T announced a partnership with Zynga to bring customized games and content to the millions of AT&T customers. The creator of popular games like FarmVille, Words with Friends, and Mafia Wars, will provide the customized products exclusively on AT&T’s shelf in Android Market.

David Ko, Senior Vice President of Mobile for Zynga described his feelings on the agreement with AT&T. “Zynga strives to provide the best mobile social game experience for our players wherever and whenever they want, so our partnership with AT&T will offer an exciting and easy way to access our popular mobile games,” he said.  ”We are looking forward to working with AT&T with this unique partnership that will truly benefit our players.”

AT&T customers will receive benefits in the form of free credits for certain games and giveaways at AT&T-sponsored events.  As this is the first wireless carrier to form an agreement with Zynga, AT&T is doing everything possible to ensure success. Thus, the wireless provider is working to improve the social-gaming experience through network and battery-life optimization.

The Vice President of Wireless Data, Voice and Ancillary services for AT&T Mobility contends that AT&T’s network capabilities will provide the best gaming experience for players. “Speed enhances playing experience on mobile. This agreement combines the nation’s fastest mobile broadband network with a clear leader in mobile social games, ultimately bringing more value to our wireless customers’ playing experience.”

As 20% of the U.S. population reported having played a social game on their mobile device in the past three months, the agreement seems to be of excellent timing on the part of AT&T to take advantage of the growing market. Further, an IPO from Zynga coming in the near future, and the probable huge company growth that will result, adds to the benefits for AT&T and its customers.

As of now, examples of customized content and supported games have not been announced. Expect further information soon as the content is promised to launch later this year.
