Budget-Friendly Nokia Lumia 510 to land in the UK soon

A UK retailer ‘Phones4U’ has revealed that the Finnish phone maker will be releasing the budget-friendly Nokia Lumia 510 in the UK after all. This is despite the company’s earlier position that this particular Lumia device wouldn’t see a UK launch.

The Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820’s youngest sibling was announced last October, but Nokia told The INQUIRER that this particular device would only be released in China and India.

With Phones4U’s revelation (and after adding the said device to its ‘Coming Soon’ page) it is only evident that this device will see a UK launch. Sadly, there is no official word from Nokia or the said UK retailer as to the phone’s actual release or price yet.

If you simply don’t want to pay more for a Lumia device, then this is the right phone for you. This may not run on Windows Phone 8 OS (powered by Windows Phone 7.5 OS), but it still runs on one of the smoothest OS today.

Just like its bigger Windows Phone 8 siblings, the Lumia 510 is also colourful. This device is packed with a 4 inch display and comes in with 480 x 800p screen resolution. You will also enjoy the phone’s Snapdragon 800MHz processor. The phone is packed with 5MP rear-facing shutter, 4GB memory and 7GB free Microsoft Skydrive cloud storage.

According to Nokia’s EVP of Smart Devices Jo Harlow: “With the Nokia Lumia 510 we continue to meet our commitment to bring Windows Phone to new, lower price points.”

“People who use Windows Phone quickly realize how much more intuitive it is than other smartphone platforms, and Nokia Lumia is the best embodiment of the Windows Phone experience. With the Nokia Lumia 510 we’re looking forward to welcoming more people into the Windows Phone experience.”
