Comparing Windows Phone – The Nokia Lumia 900 And The Samsung Focus 2

Nokia Lumia 900

The New Nokia Lumia 900

We’ve seen the Nokia and Microsoft tandem with their Windows Phone handsets. We have also witnessed the Samsung and Microsoft tandem with their Windows Phones. In this article, we will talk about the latest Windows Phone Mango 7.5 from both the Finnish giant Nokia and Korean giant Samsung. In this article, we will compare the new Nokia Lumia 900 and the upcoming Samsung Focus 2. Read on!

To start off the comparison, let us talk about their display screens. Let’s deal with the Nokia Lumia 900 first. It packs a 4.3″ AMOLED touch screen with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and pixel density of 217 ppi. Now, the Samsung Focus 2 packs a 4″ Super AMOLED touch screen with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and pixel density of 233 ppi. As you can see the Lumia 900 packs a bigger screen size but the same screen resolution as the Focus 2. If you like bigger screened handset, then I am sure that the Lumia 900 is the winner for you.

Let us now move on to their processors. Nokia equipped their latest handset with an 8MP shutter with a resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels and it can shoot videos at 720 pixels at 30 frames per second (fps). It comes in with a 1MP VGA front-facing camera and it can shoot at 15 frames per second (fps). On the other hand, Samsung packed its handset with a 5MP shutter with a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels and it can shoot videos at 720 pixels and at 30 frames per second (fps) as well. It comes in with a VGA front-facing camera. When it comes to cameras, the Lumia 900 is a sure winner.

Moving on, let us now go and talk about their processing prowess. Nokia packed their handset with a 1.4GHz Scorpion CPU and uses an Adreno 205 GPU. On the other side of the equation, Samsung packed its handset with the same 1.4GHz Scorpion CPU and Adreno 205 GPU. In short, both of them are using the same and powerful processor.

The Lumia 900′s internal memory is at 16GB and is equipped with a 512MB worth of RAM. The Focus 2′s internal memory is at 8GB only. Unfortunately, both of these handsets memory are fixed because both of them lack a microSD card slot. As mentioned earlier, these handsets are both from Nokia and Samsung’s common partner (Microsoft). Therefore, these handsets are both running on Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS. They can be both enjoyed with all the features that a Windows Phone operating system can offer.

This is my brief comparison note on Windows Phone the Nokia Lumia 900 and Samsung Focus 2.
