With the launch of the new Windows 8 operating system nearly upon us there have been many new smartphones which have been designed to take full advantage of this new platform. This year popular manufacturers Samsung and HTC are getting in on the Windows act and are releasing new devices which will show off the platforms excellent features. Microsoft have announced that the new HTC 8X will be the flagship device for Windows 8 however there is a lack of EA titles available which will disappoint gaming fans.
It has been reported that there will not be any titles available from Electronic Arts in time for the launch of Windows 8. For many consumers that wish to get their hands on one of the new devices this news will be disappointing. The handsets are ideal for gaming with their larger screens and impressive processing power. It has been stated by EA Mobile’s UK PR manager, Tom Goldberger that the EA titles which were on show at their event in London are not developed with Windows 8 or the new Blackberry 10 platform. The absence of EA titles on the new Nokia Lumia 920 and the HTC 8X is not expected to be permanent as the developers will be keeping an eye on their success before they decide to invest a substantial amount of money on developing games for them. Some of the most popular games that are available have been produced by EA such as FIFA 13, Most Wanted and also Need For Speed. To enable Windows 8 and Blackberry 10 to compete with the most popular services such as iOS and Android they will be offering a wide range of applications to attract consumers. If these new platforms prove to be successful the absence of AE titles should be short lived, so watch this space.
The launch of the new HTC 8X and the Nokia Lumia 920 will be available very soon and it looks like we may have to be patient in the wait for EA titles to appear.
