The HTC Desire X takes on the LG Optimus L7

Although they’re both Android phones the LG and the new Desire X are completely different. The curved HTC and the stylish LG are equally as pretty as each other but have a totally different look that depends on the user’s preference. But, we can look at how the rest of the package stack up against each other so that you can make an informed decision at which mobile phone contract comparison to choose from.

The premium smartphone of the HTC One X shares a similar body to the new HTC Desire X, but the lesser model is made from plastic rather than having a uni-body of heavier-weight One X. As it looks very similar to the One X it gives the Desire X the look of a higher-priced unit which is very favourable to those that opt to buy it. The wedge-shape of the Desire means that there is a stepped-look to the slightly-projected screen which adds a layered effect which looks very nice. Indeed, this is more prominent with the white version compared to the dark grey model.

Conversely, the LG Optimus L7 has a bobbled-effect rear case but it shares the similar tooks to the 4X HD which is the more-expensive, premium model. This again will give you a boost as you’re paying far less for the L7 than the 4X. The clinical design is very appealing and not too unlike the Nokia Lumia range, except there is a curved edge that makes it easier to hold in your hand. There are also a few chrome finishes that make it look just that little more expensive again.

Between the two, the thinner LG phone is probably more appealing to look at and it’s a little heavier too which adds to that premium feel. The screens stack up with a 4.3” IPS LCD screen on the LG that runs at 800 x 480, which is more than ample for this price range. It comes with Gorilla Glass that helps you save yourself from scratching the screen. The 4” screen on the HTC is a Super LCD panel that has the same screen resolution but it runs at 233ppi rather than 217ppi.

When it comes to storage there is 4GB of internal space and 768MB RAM on the HTC and it has the ability to take 32GB microSD cards. The LG is very similar except it runs at 512MB RAM, but it shouldn’t be too noticeable when using it. The Desire X has a RAM that is dual-channel rather than the single-channel of the Optimus L7.

Both handsets run on Ice Cream Sandwich, which makes them both fluid and easy to use. There is a 5MP camera for both and they both have good video cameras. Although both phones are very similar the style and look of them will be the major factor in which one you will choose.
