The Samsung Galaxy S range of mobile phones is not the only range of mobile devices that has proved incredibly successful for the Korean manufacturers. In 2011 we saw the original Galaxy Note device launched and last year this was followed up by the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 which helped the company to post some superb sales figures. New images have now appeared online of the latest addition to this range which is due to be released very soon.
We are expecting to see the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2013 which takes place in Barcelona next month. The model is not aimed at replacing the current Samsung Galaxy Note 2 model but instead it will sit in the range alongside this phone giving consumers the option of an even larger 8 inch display. This will help the manufacturers to compete at the smaller end of the tablet market where units like the Nexus 7 and the Amazon Kindle are proving very popular. These latest images that have popped up online show this new model offering a very similar design to existing Galaxy Note devices. Samsung’s trademark bezel is apparent and the model looks to be made from high quality plastics like previous models which makes us believe that these are genuine images of the new device. The specification of the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 certainly looks impressive. The biggest difference between this model and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is in the screen department. The Note 2 uses a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display which effectively makes the model a very large phone whereas the 8 inch TFT display on the new Note 8.0 pushes the model well into tablet territory. A quad core processor is incorporated on the model to ensure that operation speeds are superb. This processor is clocked at 1.6Ghz and it is teamed with a hefty 2GB of RAM. Consumers will be offered the choice of two different storage capacities which will be 16GB and 32GB. The model will also boast a 5 mega pixel camera and a micro SD card slot. The model will appeal to consumers looking for a small tablet device while the existing Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will strike a chord with consumers looking for a larger than average screened mobile phone.
