You may be dying to get the untethered jailbreak iOS 6/iOS 6.0.1 for your iPhone 5 but the bad news is that this is not happening sometime soon. Yes, there is still no official update from Apple as to when this will happen.
It was only a few weeks ago when people were told about the tethered jailbreak version of the iOS 6.1 beta 2 (using RedSn0w tool) is finally nearing its end. But, this all changed just today as the iOS 6.1 beta 3 has been released to devs and is already jailbroken. Again, let me remind you that this is for ‘developers’ only and it is tethered.
Apple officially rolled out the iOS 6.1 beta 3 just yesterday and according to them devices that are already running the 6.1 betas can now access this via Over-The-Air or OTA update. Registered developers can also access this in full beta 3 from the Dev Center.
The update brings minor changes to iOS 6.1 beta 2 and is said to boast improvements in the likes of bug fixes, minor changes to Passbook concerning boarding pass behavior, Safari tweaks, and more. Keep in mind that the expiry date for the iOS 6.1 beta 3 is on the 28th of December. This means that you should find another beta version before it expires. Please do note that this is a ‘tethered’ jailbreak version for developers only and is suitable only for pre-A5 chip devices (i.e. iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and the iPod Touch 4th generation).
Yes, many of you who simply cannot wait for the official iOS update will definitely try this (well that is if you are brave enough). However, if you are going to ask me, I ‘highly’ do not recommend jailbreaking your device. if you do so, then you are at your own risk.
