Macotakara via 9to5Mac reports that the next iPad will be officially unveiled in March of next year. If you’re getting your hands on the current iPad before the year ends, it’s best to save your money for the upcoming model instead.
The iPad 5, just like the current iPad, will sport a 9.7-inch screen. However, the device is rumoured to be just as slim and light compared to the iPad mini.
Macotakara’s source said, “According to my inside source, iPad(5th) may be released in March, 2013. Source told that, design of this new iPad will be like iPad mini in detail, and be thinner and lightweight. (The expectation comes to have a small 4mm in height, 17mm in width, depth 2mm.)”
The report adds that Apple is also working on the iPad mini 2. However, this rumoured device will not sport an ordinary display just like the current version. It is said to sport a retina display just like the bigger model. Sadly, this is all the site had to say about the iPad mini 2.
Is the report genuine? Since the Cupertino firm has not yet confirmed the existence of the iPad 5, treat this just like any other rumour for now. However, Macotakara has been accurate in the past, which means they might be right on the button once again. Since Apple released the iPad 3 in March of this year, it might just do the same next year.
