Sky provides people in the UK with a great range of services which range from basic telephone packages to Satellite TV and broadband services. Sky have now developed some really useful Apps which will benefit iPhone 4S users by connecting them to their home services.
If you are a Sky subscriber you can benefit from two great applications on your iPhone 4S. Leaving the house and forgetting to record your favourite programmes is no longer a problem as you can use the new Sky+ app. This app gives you all of the functions offered from your decoder box at home. Users are able to view a full TV guide of current programmes that are airing and those on in coming days. iPhone 4S users will be provided with the same programme information on their handset as provided by pressing the ‘i’ button one your sky remote. The most useful aspect of this new application is that it can send recording information directly to your home box, meaning you never have to miss your favourite shows. Another great application produced by Sky is Sky Go which allows you to view programmes directly on your phone. A wide range of channels can be streamed and the picture quality is superb and at it’s best when you have a WiFi connection, however 3G also gives a great viewing experience.
If you are not a Sky subscriber you can still benefit from other great applications. One of these is the Sky Sports News app which has a multitude of videos and stories relating to a wide range of sporting topics. Sky also produce a similar app but one that is dedicated to general news stories from across the globe. The Sky News app is easy to use by using the horizontal bar at the top of the screen which takes you to a number of different categories and other options. If you prefer to be connected to Wifi with you are out and about Sky Cloud is the app for you. If you subscribe to Sky you can search for a local Sky hotspot and connect for unlimited broadband. There are thousands of hotspots nationwide that iPhone 4S users can connect to making social networking, web browsing and uploading photographs a much faster process.
Users of the iPhone 4S who are Sky subscribers can basically extend the functionality offered by a decoder box to the mobile phone by using some of Sky’s great new applications. However if you do not subscribe, don’t worry, you can still use the Sky News and Sky Sports News applications for a wealth of news delivered directly to your phone.
