The iPhone 4S And iPhone 5 – How Will They Measure Up Against One Another?

If rumours are to be believed, we are getting very close to the unveiling of the next iPhone model, the iPhone 5. Whenever Apple launches next instalment of its smartphone series, there is always a lot of excitement and anticipation. This is certainly the case with the iPhone 5. In this article, I am going to look at some of the key features of the iPhone 4S, and how the iPhone 5 is likely to compare.

The screen has long been regarded as one of the crowning features of the Apple iPhone 4S. This is particularly thanks to its outstanding display quality which is produced by the retina display. This gets its name from the fact that a pixel resolution of 640x 960 is packed into the relatively compact 3.5 inch screen, resulting in an industry leading pixel density of 330 pixels per inch. As a result, pixels appear too small for the naked eye to see. We can expect this retina display to also be included with the iPhone 5, however it looks like the iPhone 5 will be the first iPhone model to sport screen large and 3.5 inches. Therefore, users get the best of both worlds; excellent display quality and a larger touchscreen.

Processor
The iPhone 4S has a 1 GHz dual-core processor, which at the time of the handset’s release made it one of the most powerful smartphones on the market. Even to this day, it still provides the handset with excellent levels of performance, even by the standards of many of the recently released quad-core powered smartphones. Examples of these include the Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X, both of which have quad-core processors which makes them among the most powerful smartphones available. Apple will surely be keen to compete in this respect, so we can expect a quad-core processor to be included with the iPhone 5, or possibly a more powerful dual-core processor. Either way, the iPhone 5 is sure to provide users with the levels of performance that we have come to expect from Apple’s smartphones.

Camera
The iPhone 4S is renowned for the quality of its 8 megapixel camera, and despite having been on the market for almost a year, it is still widely regarded as one of the best cameraphones available. It would be no surprise to many of the same camera was utilised with the iPhone 5, Although a number of sources suggest the camera will sport a whopping 12 mega pixel resolution. Whether or not this is the case, the camera feature is unlikely to be a disappointment.

The Apple iPhone 5 clearly has some big shoes to fill, but knowing Apple, it is likely to impress across the board. It has been rumoured that the iPhone 5 will be unveiled on the 12th of September so there is now not long to wait.
