The New iPhone 5 is without doubt the most eagerly awaited smartphone launch of 2012 and we are starting to get an idea about the exact specification that this model is set to offer. Some more news has emerged about the processor that this model will sport and it will please iPhone fans everywhere.
The iPhone 5 is set to be the first iPhone to incorporate a quad core processor. This is perhaps unsurprising with many rival manufacturers such as LG, HTC and Samsung launching quad core device this year. Quad core processors sport four individual cores which means that they are much better at performing multiple tasks than singles core or dual core chips. The iPhone 5 is set to feature a new A6 processor which is a modified version of the excellent Exynos Series 4 chip which is developed by Samsung. The Exynos chip is regarded by many as the ultimate smartphone processor and therefore iPhone fans will be delighted about this technology making its way onto the new handset. It terms of power we expect the new iPhone to offer between 1Ghz and 1.2Ghz, a lower speed than many rivals but more than ample for the excellent power efficiency of the iOS operating system.
Processing power is just one area where the new iPhone 5 will offer improvements over previous models. From a design point of view we are expecting the model to sport a brand new design for the first time in three years and the glass chassis used on the iPhone 4 and 4S is set to be replaced by a new metallic body. This body will house a large 4 inch screen which will give users improved web browsing, video playback and mobile gaming. The iOS6 operating system will be used on the phone and this sports over two hundred improvements over earlier versions including new Facebook integration and a revamped Siri. This new Siri will be able to launch applications as well as accurately answer questions on a range of sporting and movie related topics.
The new iPhone 5 certainly looks set to be a very impressive phone and the A6 quad core processor will delight fans of this great range of phones. Expect the phone to be one of the quickest available and also one of the nicest looking thanks to an eagerly awaited new design.
