We only have a couple of months left until the long awaited release of the new iPhone 5 and as we get closer to the launch we are seeing a lot more rumors circulating within the media. One of the rumors that is sure to please users is the larger screen we are expected to see. There have been lots of new images circulating on the internet showing an engineering sample which is shown alongside a ruler which gives us a better idea of the new iPhone’s dimensions.
Lots of the reports that are currently doing the rounds on tech websites suggest that the iPhone 5 will sport a large 4.08 inch screen which will be capable of a 16:9 screen ratio and the new leaked images support this. The photographs of the engineering sample have originated from China which is where lots of the engineering of this new handset took place. The photographs show us a new metallic style chassis which means that Apple have chosen to steer away from the previous glass design on the iPhone 4 and 4S. The ratio provided by the 4.08 inch screen is 16:9 and this is sure to please users that like to view video clips from sites such as YouTube. Video content will now be able to be viewed without black bars at the top and the bottom of the screen.
The images that we have been provided with show us that this new phone will be taller than it’s predecessors measuring in at 122.5mm tall as opposed to 115.2mm. The width of the iPhone 5 remains the same despite the larger screen. This has been possible because Apple have made the screen almost bezel free which means that the screen will reach the very edge of the body. The closer that we get to the proposed release of this long awaited handset the more images and rumors that are appearing on the market and these are becoming a lost more substantial and less of a speculation. Along with the screen improvements on the iPhone 5 we can also expect improved software and processing power thanks to the incorporation of the new iOS6 operating system which will include around 200 enhancements. One of these enhancements is the improved Siri function which will be able to perform a lot more tasks simply by asking this voice recognition service.
The new larger screen and it’s new metallic chassis look great on the new images released and these are certainly the most impressive snaps of this new model that we have seen. Expect the model to be launched between August and October this year.
