The Catwalk is most probably one of the most-talked about 2013 devices by the Finnish phone maker Nokia. Apparently, this elusive device graced the recently concluded Mobile World Congress expo via a special invitation only. Yes, only a few were able to witness the new Nokia device, one of them is the famous Russian blogger Eldar Murtazin.
Murtazin said in hi blog, that the Finnish phone maker is gearing up the Catwalk as an enhancement to the company’s current Windows Phone flagship device the Nokia Lumia 920.
The Catwalk will come in a thinner and all-aluminum body. The phone basically offers a slimmer version of the Lumia 920’s PureView Phase2 camera as well.
According to previous reports, the Catwalk will come in with improved Lumia polycarbonate body casing and it will be made in new aluminum design. The phone’s innards will mostly match the Lumia 920’s innards.
Murtazin together with other attendees did have one complaint about the Nokia Catwalk. Basically, it is not an Android OS powered device so it’s not that good. Murtazin thinks that the device’s planned Windows Phone OS will only spoil the phone in general.
Muratazin said: “Oh, Windows Phone, why are you not Android.”
For quite some time now Nokia through its partnership with Microsoft, produces nothing but Windows Phone devices. Furthermore, the company doesn’t make Android devices. In short, whatever criticism the Catwalk received during the special viewing event was simply shrugged off by both Microsoft and Nokia. However, Nokia is not closing its door to Google’s Android OS. Stephen Elop, Nokia’s CEO remained firm in his commitment with Microsoft and its Windows Phone OS for now.
Again, the Finnish phone maker is not showing any signs of abandoning Microsoft soon.
