Now that the Samsung Galaxy S4 has been on the market for a couple of weeks, it’s begun to clock up some impressive sales figures as expected, and gained plenty of acclaim from critics and positive feedback from consumers. Although the Galaxy S4 is likely to become the most popular smartphone of 2013, there has recently been speculation that Samsung will be releasing a couple of other versions of the device this year.
For example, we recently reported that Samsung will be releasing a Galaxy S4 Mini, which will be smaller and have a number of lower specifications allowing for a more affordable price tag, as well as a device called the Galaxy S4 Active, which is believed to be dust proof and waterproof in a similar manner to the Sony Xperia Z. More recent speculation has also suggested that a camera orientated version of the device will also be released this year, called the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom. This information comes to us by way of Sammobile, which reports that the handset will come with a 16 megapixel camera like that used on the company’s Galaxy Camera model. Of course, the Galaxy S4 is already impressive camera phone, with its 13 megapixel camera being one of the most advanced out there. However, we can expect the Galaxy S4 Zoom to be much more camera orientated and boast even more advanced camera features than the current flagship model. The website reports that other features of the phone will include a 4.3 inch qHD super AMOLED display, 8 GB of internal storage with a microSD slot, Android Jellybean operating system with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI Nature UX interface. Currently, it is unconfirmed whether the device will come with a dual-core quad core processor, and is also currently unknown how much RAM the phone will include.
Sammobile reports that we can expect the handset to land in June or July this year in black and white variants. Although Samsung is yet to officially announce the Galaxy S4 Zoom, Sammobile has proven to be a reliable source time and time again when it comes to upcoming phones from the South Korea based manufacturer. When we hear of any updates regarding the Galaxy S4 Zoom, we will be sure to keep you posted.
