So from what the news are saying, it looks like the new Nokia Lumia 720 is US bound after all. The new addition to the Windows Phone 8 Lumia family is now here and is heading its way to the US soon. This new report is according to Federal Communications Commission today.
What is more, the US Nokia Lumia 720 variant will be bearing the same specs as the international Lumia 720 variant.
The Lumia 720 will come in with a 4.3” WVGA display. It packs in a 6.7MP main camera and it is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor. This is then paired with 512MB worth of RAM.
The Lumia 720 will land with 8GB on-board storage capacity out of the box. You can expand via a microSD and get as much as 64GB worth of additional storage.
The US bound Nokia Lumia 720 is said to land with the same 2,000 mAh battery as the international variant, according to internal images in the FCC documents.
The Nokia Lumia 720’s battery is higher than the iPhone 5’s 1,440 mAh battery. Nokia promises 13.4 talk-time hours and about 520 hours when in standby mode on 3G. This is quite excellent for a mid-range Windows Phone 8 device. Sadly, there is no LTE on this device.
Instead, FCC files showed GSM, WCDMA, and HSPA+ in addition to WLAN and Bluetooth antennas.
The unlocked Nokia Lumia 720 variant) is priced at £249.99 or $378.
It was only last month when T-Mobile US released the Nokia Lumia 520 and a spokesperson from the company said: “it doesn’t have any news regarding the Lumia 720.”
Meanwhile in Asia and in the UK, the Nokia Lumia 720 release date is still unknown. Retailers are all calling for an April 1st launch, so if this is true a US release shouldn’t be that far behind.
