Last night, the Samsung Galaxy S4 has been officially introduced to the world via Samsung’s Unpacked 2013 event in posh Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
The new Samsung Galaxy S4 is said to roll out in about 327 mobile carriers in across 255 countries. The device is said to land on the 26th of April.
Sadly, there is still no official pricing from the Korean tech giant, but if we are to base it with other high-end Samsung units, the device could land with £480 or about $725 USD, this is of course the SIM-free variant.
We no longer have to speculate about its specs, it is now out in the open. Some of earlier rumours confirms the phone’s specs.
The Galaxy S4 is a tid-bit smaller than its successor the Samsung Galaxy S3 at 136.1 x 69.8mm. But, it packs a whopping 5” display screen (as previously reported).
The Galaxy S4 appears to be super thin, considering the new internals it now boasts. The device measures at 7.9mm thick only. The phone also weighs a gram lighter than the Galaxy S3 at 130 grams.
Samsung chose to bring this new device with the old polycarbonate chassis, although the phone’s metallic banding is a bit sturdier and will give you that premium feeling.
When it comes to the phone’s colour variants, Samsung is offering this new device in ‘White Frost’ and ‘Black Mists”. The company also said that “a variety of additional color options will be available later this year.”
The Galaxy S4 will come in with1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 5 processor, while in some territories you will be getting the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro variant (US is one of them).
This device is packed with a 5” Super OLED display with a stunning Full HD 1,920 x 1,080p and 441ppi (pixel density). This is indeed more than the iPhone 5’s pixel density but sadly, less than the HTC One.
The Galaxy S4 will land with the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1 with Samsung’s latest TouchWiz UI.
