Is the HTC One too expensive for your taste? Are you looking for something more affordable? If either an entry-level or mid-range handset interests you more, we have news for you. Leaked photos of the Desire P and Desire Q have surfaced on the internet.
According to Focus Taiwan, “HTC Corp. will release two entry-level to mid-range smartphones models in Taiwan soon.”
The site goes on to say, “Chunghwa Telecom Co., the country’s largest mobile provider, told CNA that it will offer the “HTC Desire P” at about NT$10,900 (US$365), starting in April.
“The phone is equipped with a 4.3-inch display, a dual-core processor and an 8-megapixel camera.
“The exact price and the delivery date have not yet been finalized, as negotiations with HTC are still in progress, Chunghwa Telecom said.
“Far EasTone Telecommunications Co., the third-largest telecom operator in Taiwan, said it will introduce the 4-inch “HTC Desire Q” early next month at a price of roughly NT$6,990, aiming to attract entry-level customers who have less demand for data services.
“The introduction of the two new low-end to mid-level models appear to be part of HTC’s latest sales strategy. It said earlier that it planned to launch more affordable phones in China and some developed markets as telecom operators shift their customers from the older 2G mobile network to the mainstream 3G or super-fast 4G LTE networks.”
Unfortunately, it is still unknown if we’ll be seeing the two in the UK. We hope they do.
