There has recently been a lot of hype surrounding the build up to the launch of the Windows Phone 8 operating system with a number of handsets which are due to be released to showcase this new platform.
HTC and Nokia are among those to launch new devices with Windows Phone 8 installed as standard. Nokia’s Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 devices looks set to be among the most exciting releases from the Finnish manufacturer in a number of years. There have even been reports of the Lumia 920 selling out of pre-order stock in Italy and the U.S. For the latest HTC 8X News please visit our website.
Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC has been responsible for some of the best windows powered smartphones in the past. After the launch of the new operating system, HTC will be releasing the HTC 8X and HTC 8S. However, like the Nokia Lumia devices, no official release date for these phones has been given. According to a prominent UK retailer, we can expect to see the HTC 8X in stores on the 2nd of November, with the HTC 8S following just a few days later on the 15th.
The HTC 8X will be the manufacturer’s flagship model of the operating system. This will of course be reflected in its higher end features with a price tag to match. A 4.3 inch 720p touchscreen, 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and an 8 megapixel camera will be among the key features of the device, and you can expect to pay around £400 if you wish to get your hands on the SIM free model.
The HTC 8S will be a cheaper option. Although this will be reflected in its features, it will still prove a tough rival to the majority of competing mid range handsets. It will boast a 4 inch WVGA screen, 5 megapixel camera and a 1GHz dual-core processor. With a price tag of around £250 (SIM free), we can expect the handset to be very popular.
