Samsung Galaxy Note 2 May Have A Rival In The HTC DLX

HTC has produced some of the most notable Android and Windows Phone powered smartphones over the last couple of years.  However, the Taiwanese manufacturer has recently fallen on relatively hard times after posting disappointing quarterly profits which show a 79% reduction from the same period last year, and its lowest since 2006.  This is largely due to handsets like the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Apple iPhone 4S proving to be tough competition for HTC’s offerings like the HTC One X, although this is still a very impressive device.

Although 2012 has not been HTC’s year, the manufacturer has a number of exciting new handsets in the pipeline which may turn the tables in its favour.  Windows Phone 8, the new version of Microsoft’s mobile OS is soon to be launched, and HTC is among the first to offer new smartphones to showcase the software.  The HTC 8X and 8S are soon to be launched and look set to make an impact in this market, especially given the fact that there is less competition with this software than there is with Android. The latest HTC 8X News can be found on our website.

Another notable handset which is soon to be launched is the HTC DLX.  Boasting a 5 inch high definition screen, this looks like it will rival the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note.  This device spawned the term ‘phablet’ after its bridges the gap between phone and tablet with its sizable display.  The original Samsung Galaxy Note has so far sold over 12 million units despite the fact that many people doubted it would prove a popular format.  HTC now look like it wants a piece of this growing market, and the HTC DLX looks like it may be up to the task.

With the aforementioned 5 inch HD display, the handset has also managed to pack a 12 megapixel camera and 1.5 GHz quad-core processor along with latest Android Jellybean OS.  The release date has yet to be confirmed, but we will keep you updated when we hear more.
