The Samsung Galaxy S3 And Apple iPhone 4S Impress Across The Board

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is one of the top smartphones on the market. The iPhone 4S is also a popular device, and one of the main competitors for the Korean manufacturer’s latest flagship Android smartphone. In this article, I will compare a few of their key features so you can decide which one is best.

Screen
The iPhone 4S and the Samsung Galaxy S3 boast some of the best touchscreens of any smartphones currently available. The screen of the Samsung Galaxy S3 measures 4.8 inches, and thanks to a resolution of 720x 1280 in conjunction with its super AMOLED HD capacitive touchscreen technology, it provides outstanding display quality which makes the ideal device for multimedia use such as playing games or watching videos. Whilst equally impressive, the screen of the iPhone 4S is rather different for a number of reasons. One of the most immediately noticeable differences of these screens is the size. The screen of the iPhone 4S measures 3.5 inches, but this contributes significantly to its renowned display quality. Because a pixel resolution of 640x 960 is packed into its compact screen, a higher than usual pixel density of 330 pixels per inch is created. As a result of this, the naked eye cannot distinguish between individual pixels on the screen, which is why the screen is also known as the retina display.

Camera
Both the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 4S are well known for their credentials as camera phones. While there are of course differences of this feature between these phones, they also share a number of specifications in common. Both cameras have a resolution of 8 megapixels, and share the ability to capture video footage in a number of pixel resolutions of up to 1080p, which is full high definition. Additionally, both phones pack all the usual image enhancing features that you expect to find on any high end smartphone. Both the iPhone 4S and the Samsung Galaxy S3 allow users to download apps from their respective operating systems, which means that the functionality of the cameras can potentially be vastly increased.

Operating System
One of the fundamental differences between these two smartphones is of course the operating systems. The iPhone 4S has the latest version of iOS, which is Apple’s smartphone and tablet optimised platform which millions of people use, as it is included in all iPhone models along with iPads and iPod touch devices. This operating system is well known for its ease of use while at the same time boasting numerous advanced and innovative features, with the Siri app being a prime example. The Samsung Galaxy S3 on the other hand runs the Android operating system, which is one of the most popular smartphone operating systems on the market. This runs in conjunction with Samsung TouchWiz, which is the manufacturer’s custom Android interface and offers an alternative look and feel long with additional customisation options of the stock Android interface.

As you can see, both the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 4S are well equipped in terms of their screens, cameras and operating systems. Choosing between these devices will generally come down to personal preference for factors such as brand, operating system or design of the phone.
