The Samsung Galaxy S4 has now been on the market for a couple of months, and as expected has become the South Korean manufacturer’s latest bestseller. In its first month, it clocked up more than 10 million units, smashing the record breaking sales figures achieved by its Galaxy S3 predecessor. In recent weeks, Samsung has announced several new versions of its new flagship model, including the Galaxy S4 Mini.
The device, as the name suggests is a smaller, lower spec but more affordable version of the Galaxy S4. Of course, Samsung made a similar move last year with the Galaxy S3 Mini, which offered a more affordable alternative to its expensive flagship counterpart.
Although it is by no means the most advanced smartphone model on the market, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini certainly offers a decent spec lists considering its lower price point. Key features of the phone include a 4.3 inch super AMOLED display, 1.5 GB of RAM, 8 GB of expandable storage via a microSD slot, 1.7 GHz dual-core processor and 8 megapixel camera. Combined with its more affordable price tag, we expect the Galaxy S4 Mini to be a competitive handset in the mid range smartphone market.
Recently, pricing for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini has been revealed. Notable UK retailers such as Carphone Warehouse and Clove have listed the Galaxy S4 Mini on their websites, with a price tag of £390 for the SIM free model. Of course, several networks will be offering the phone on pay monthly deals, with O2 recently releasing details of its contracts, which start at a competitive £22.00 monthly fee. Details of Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini contracts can be found here.
While the Galaxy S4 Mini is unlikely to be in such high demand as the Galaxy S4, we think its pricing is very competitive, and although it has several downgraded features from its flagship counterpart, it still offers a superior spec list to many other handsets at a similar price point.
