The Sony Xperia Z promises to be one of the most popular smartphone models of 2013. After a few months of speculation and excitement, the device was officially unveiled a few weeks ago at the Consumer Electronics Show 2013 event in Las Vegas.
The device really impresses when it comes to features boasting a 5-inch display with full HD 1080p resolution and a 1.5GHZ quad-core processor. The operating system installed is Android Jellybean 4.1, although and update to Jellybean 4.2.2 is on the way. The phone also comes with 13 megapixel camera and is also dustproof and waterproof, confirmed by its IP55 and IP57 certifications. It can be submerged into a metre of water for half an hour without getting damaged.
Announcements regarding the phone claimed that Sony Xperia Z will be launched in Europe on February 21st. However, based on an article at GSM Arena, some consumers in France were lucky enough already to be able to have the device few days earlier. The phone is already available in France but only in black and white options, and is available from Sony online. The availability of the purple-coloured Xperia Z is not yet confirmed. The pricing for the handset, SIM-free is €649. By most people’s standards the price is high but understandable especially that the phone comes with such advanced features. France is the second country to get hold of the phone after Japan. More information about the Sony Xperia Z can be found on our website, where you can also compare Sony Xperia Z deals.
