Source leaks photo showing Samsung Galaxy S4 without a home button – rumoured to launch in May

A leaked photo shows the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4. Judging from the photo, the highly-anticipated smartphone does not sport a home button. Meanwhile, it looks like the Korean tech giant has confirmed that its next flagship will be landing in May.galaxy-s4-leaked-625x380

The S4’s release date was apparently confirmed by Samsung Lebanon. It said to a fan that the handset “won’t be released before May 2013”.

A source sent a photo to SamMobile of what it claims to be the Galaxy S4. The site reports, “We of SamMobile just received a huge tip from our insider at Samsung and according to him this is the next generation of the Galaxy S series, the Galaxy S IV. We can’t 100% confirm if this is indeed the Galaxy S IV but the picture he sent us looks really sharp and doesn’t look fake at all. The design of the device looks also very similar to the design of the Galaxy S III and the Galaxy Premier, which makes this picture more authentic.

“By looking at the picture of the device we observed a few things, the device will use on-screen buttons as there is no home-button present on the device (Finally), the bezel around the device is much thinner and the device features a large display.”

Sadly, the source did not reveal the device’s spec sheet. From past rumours, we know that the S4 will sport an Exynos 5450 2GHz quad-core processor, a Mali-T658 GPU, 2GB of RAM, a 4.99-inch Super AMOLED full HD (1080p) touchscreen, a 13-megapixel primary camera, and a 2-megapixel secondary camera. It is rumoured to run Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean).

Although SamMobile has a reputation for being accurate, it does say that it finds its source’s claims “hard to believe”.
