Nokia will be delighted by the positive early sales that its new Lumia 920 and 820 devices have attracted and the handsets are still to be released in some major markets in the world. India are the latest country where these handsets have been launched and a third model is set to join them in a few weeks time.
Over the past few days we have seen the superb Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 handset released in India. These are not the only two Windows 8 devices that consumers in this market can look forward to from the Finnish manufacturers as it has also been reported that the entry level Lumia 620 is set for a February release although pricing and dates are still to be confirmed. The Nokia Lumia 920 is the premium device in the range and this is certainly reflected in the pricing for this model. At an equivalent of $697 Indian consumers could actually get the Samsung Galaxy S3 for less money or the Galaxy Note 2 for roughly the same price. The model is however cheaper than Apple’s iPhone 5. Compared with other Windows handsets available in the country both models come in more expensive than the HTC 8X and 8S although they do offer superior specification to these phones. When you take a look at the specification on these two models it is no great surprise that they are the most expensive Windows 8 devices on the market. The Nokia Lumia 920 is regarded by many as the ultimate Windows phone and offers a superb 4.5 inch IPS TFT display that makes excellent uses of Puremotion HD+ and Clearblack technologies to deliver excellent quality. Nokia have equipped the phone with an excellent 8.7 mega pixel camera while a powerful 1.5Ghz dual core Krait processor delivers exceptional speeds. The 820 offers a more modest specification and uses a smaller 4.3 inch screen capable of displaying and 800 x 480 resolution. The release of the Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 in India will give consumers in this market a wider choice of Windows 8 devices and this will grow even further with the launch of the Lumia 620 in February.
