Report by 9to5Mac suggested that Apple will be releasing their unlocked iPhone 5 will land to Apple’s US web store yesterday evening. According to 9to5Mac, Apple will quietly start selling the iPhone 5 unlocked version yesterday evening. This too will eventually rollout to Apple’s retail stores in the US soon.
The news comes with high hopes that the actual supply of the iPhone 5 is now slowly easing. With new orders from the Apple Store now stating that delivery period is only for one week, this is indeed good. Yes, back in September (when it first came out) the waiting period was set to one whole month. That was the bad news before, but now people can actually get their new iPhone 5 in just one week.
Now by Apple simply doing this (selling their new unlocked iPhone 5s online), it automatically means that buyers will be able to use this with a nano-SIM card from their chosen US mobile carriers. This is not like the carrier locked version of the iPhone 5. Since this device is unlocked, you can also use this even if you travel outside the US. All you have to do is to insert a local carrier nano-sim and you are good to go. No need for you to pay expensive roaming fees for your phone.
The only sad news is, the unlocked iPhone 5 version will cost you from $199 up to $399 (16GB to 64GB variants). Usually, carrier contract locked iPhone 5s are priced at $199 to $399 (16GB to 64GB variants). But if you want it unlocked, then I am sure that you won’t even blink when it’s time for you to pay for your new iPhone 5.
If you really want one, you can now shop and not have to wait that long. It will only take you one week until you see your new unlocked iPhone 5.
