Vodafone Australia’s HTC 8X and Nokia Lumia 820 prices and release date revealed. Yes, these two new Windows Phone devices by HTC and Nokia landed in Australia and are now available. HTC’s Windows Phone 8 flagship the HTC 8X is the Nokia Lumia 920’s strongest competitor.
Speaking of the Nokia Lumia 920, this device is said to retail on different contracts (including the hero offer) amounting to $0 on Vodafone’s $60 monthly plan under a 2-year contract. Plan includes $700 worth of calls, unlimited SMS messages, and 1GB worth of data per month.
Going back to the HTC 8X, this device is said to be the ‘signature Windows Phone’, despite of Microsoft and Nokia’s strong ties which started back in 2011. The HTC 8X is known to give you nothing but excellent performance and is currently one of the best-looking devices available today.
The Nokia Lumia 820 on the other hand is the mid-range Windows Phone 8 device by Nokia. This is said to cost you a less than the premium Nokia Lumia 920. The Lumia 820 will retail on different plans including the hero offer for $0 upfront on Vodafone’s $50 monthly plan under a 2 year contract. This includes $500 worth of calls, unlimited SMS, and 750MB worth of data per month. The Nokia Lumia 820 is packed with 8MP rear-facing shutter with Carl Zeiss lens and microSD card slot. This device also uses interchangeable backplates to give you that different look whenever you feel like it.
Both the new Windows Phone 8 devices by HTC and Nokia, the HTC 8X and the Nokia Lumia 920 are 4G enabled devices in Australia. Unfortunately, Vodafone Australia currently runs on 3G network. Vodafone is set to launch their 1800MHz 4G network sometime next year. However, there is not exact date given yet by the Vodafone.
